Aggregate Recycling

asphalt-plant-2Capital is proud to demonstrate environmental awareness in many of our day-to-day operations. We aim to contribute positively to both our local community and to the environment on a broader scale while remaining conscious of the impact our industry can have on society.

Capital has a state-of-the-art asphalt plant that is specifically designed with advanced combustion, noise attenuation, and particulate control equipment to ensure that all emissions not only meet, but exceed, the required standards.

Capital has long been a supporter of the increased use of recycled aggregate back into our infrastructure. This not only diverts sending perfectly suitable materials to landfill sites but also consumes less virgin aggregate. Instead of depleting natural resources, Capital is able to re-use many materials like crushed concrete and broken asphalt.  These materials are broken down and combined with fresh aggregate to produce quality asphalt and granular products.

Our urban quarry is a recycling depot for a wide array of materials such as plastic piping and barrels, scrap metal, and broken concrete and asphalt.  Each of these materials can be broken down and re-used, ultimately reducing the amount of waste in landfills and allowing us to use our natural resource of gravel in a more responsible manner. We are a proud member of Aggregate Recycling Ontario (ARO) and strongly promote its mandate to encourage the increased use of recycled materials by our provincial and local governments.
