Project Overview

The 2015 Region of Waterloo Surface Asphalt included the surface asphalt placement of 3 major arterial routes in the area; Townline Rd. (Cambridge), Dundas St. (Cambridge) and Church St. (Elmira). The work on these 3 routes included base repairs, MH and CB adjustment and concrete curb repairs. There were 5 other streets that required a surface asphalt over-lay, including adjustments, base repair and shoulder widening. These included Erb St. W.(Waterloo), King St. N (Waterloo), King St. N (St. Jacob’s), Weber St. N (St. Jacob’s) and Arthur St. (Elmira).

Due to the busy nature of the Region, especially in the 2015 construction season with on-going LRT construction in the area, traffic management was a constant challenge on this project. Many work-time restrictions were imposed by the Region limiting Capital to the time lane closures could be implemented. Capital successfully executed their traffic control plan during the course of this project with the safety of their workers and the travelling public being of utmost importance.

Capital was given 45 working days to complete the work on all 8 major roads in the region. To the full satisfaction of the Owner, Capital met this deadline early and on budget.
