Project Overview

Contract 2014-2017 Resurfacing and grading on Hwy 5 east of Hwy 8 to Hwy 6  and Hwy 6 from north of Maddaugh road to south of Concession 11 East.

This project consisted of milling various depths throughout the areas to be resurfaced and replaced with one lift of SP 19 and one lift of SP 12.5 FC2. Various areas of shoulder grading and cross fall correction.

Hwy 5 consisted of primarily 2 lane roadway to be completed at night under a restricted night time flagging operation.  The Hwy 6 portion of the project consisted of a 4 lane highway with centre turn lane throughout the limits.  Base and surface on this section paved in echelon to provide a superior driving surface with minimal longitudinal joints.

This project was completed in a timely manner and Capital was honoured by receiving a Paver of the Year Finalist 2014 designation on this project from the MTO.
