Cargill Meat Solutions

Project Details

Project Overview

Upgrading the Storm Water Management system for Cargill Meat Solutions in Guelph consisted of 7m deep Stormceptor through solid bed rock. This required extensive chipping and excavation and careful planning to remove required material and maintain safe working conditions to install the structure. Excavation and re-grading of 13000m2 of parking area was required to introduce the new drainage system draining into a stone structure overflow design.

Maintaining employee parking during the construction was the greatest challenge of the project. Space was very limited and time requirements for shift work were extremely difficult. Capital had to allow for deep excavations and space for construction materials. Parking staging and communication with management was imperative to insure the schedule was maintained and no impacts to employees occurred.

Capital paved the entire parking area Saturday and Sunday to insure a quality product could be achieved and that minimal impact to production was insured. 1700t HL8 and 1400t HL3
